Athletes from the top softball, baseball and boys volleyball teams in Clovis Unified elementary schools squared off in the annual Spring Championships held at Buchanan.

Thursday’s championship tournament featured a combination of fun and competitiveness as multiple schools converged on the Buchanan High School sports complex for the final games of the year.

In the baseball championship, Cedarwood Elementary, Fugman Elementary and Maple Creek Elementary took home co-championships. Each team was rewarded for their contributions throughout the season and during Thursday’s championship games.

For softball, the Century Elementary Tigers took home the CUSD Spring Championship and for boys volleyball,  Red Bank elementary took home the championship.

Not only is it a proud moment for the elementary schools, it is also a proud moment for the high schools and intermediate teams that Century, Fugman, Maple Creek, Red Bank and Cedarwood feed into.
