Coronavirus Update: 93 Cases Confirmed in Fresno County

The Fresno County Department of Public health confirmed 13 additional cases of COVID-19 April 2, bringing the total number of cases to 94.

Out of the total amount of cases, 12 were spread person-to-person, 17 were community spread, 23 were travel-related and 42 are still under investigation.

Officials say at least 66 of the 93 cases are in the Fresno/Clovis metropolitan area.

A total of 1,650 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Fresno County, 198 of which were carried out by the FCDPH.

The FCDPH’s Communicable Disease Investigation Program is currently monitoring 399 individuals for the disease.

There are no confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Fresno County.

Fresno has more cases than its surrounding counties, though the entire central valleys continues to see an increase in cases.

Tulare County is just behind Fresno, with 81 total cases and 3 deaths. Madera County reported 28 cases, Merced reported 16, and Kings County reported five.

According to the California Department of Public Health, there were 9,191 cases of COVID-19 and 203 California as of April 1.
