Since opening its doors in October, Clovis Pizza Junction has already attracted quite a following. Locally owned and operated by the Sarantos Family of Companies, the pizza joint is receiving rave reviews about the tasty menu selections, friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant.

The Rex Phebus Pizza is named after long-time Clovis resident Rex Phebus, who was commonly known as “Mr. Clovis” because of his love for the city’s history and community. All of Clovis Pizza Junction’s pizza names are a nod to Clovis history.

Clovis native and General Manager Jaime Sinor considers her job a labor of love. She’s proud of her Clovis roots and said her family created the business to reflect the rich history of the city, evidenced by the historic Old Town Clovis photographs on every wall.

“Nearly half of the staff is related to one another, and those who aren’t are quickly adopted into our family,” Sinor said.

Pizzas and personal customer service

You won’t see a glaring menu board or stand in line to order and pay for your food. Instead, you’re offered a table or booth and your drink order is taken while you look over the menu. Personal customer service is a priority.

The house specialty and customer favorite is the Rex Phebus pizza, named after long-time Clovis resident Rex Phebus, who was commonly known as “Mr. Clovis” because of his love for the city’s history and community. Freshly baked pizza crust is topped with homemade red sauce and a generous portion of mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage and linguica to create a hearty layer and base for the veggies. Fresh-cut mushrooms, chopped green onion and bell pepper, along with tender artichoke hearts compliment the meats, and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese tops this masterpiece.

One diner said, “It’s a full meal on crust!”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

If you prefer a white sauce, try the Cole pizza, which has a base of homemade roasted garlic white sauce, fresh grated mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage and Canadian bacon. It’s topped with bell pepper, purple onion, olives, mushrooms, green onions and diced tomatoes. This big guy is the perfect combination of mounds of meat and a variety of vegetables.

The Roasted Garlic Cheesesticks are a perfect addition to any meal.

The Rodeo incorporates barbeque sauce, mozzarella cheese, chicken, hickory smoked bacon, pineapple and purple onions for a savory salty and sweet pizza.

Pizza dough is made fresh daily, and all of the pizza names are a nod to Clovis history.

Perfect blend of garlic and cheese

The Roasted Garlic Cheese sticks are a must have addition to any meal. Appropriately named cheese sticks, the gooey cheese pairs perfectly with roasted garlic. Served piping hot, they taste delicious dipped in ranch dressing or the warm house red sauce.

Specials and Roundup coupon

Try their Sunday to Wednesday special, which includes one large, one topping pizza with a pitcher of domestic beer for $19.99. You’ll also find a coupon in this issue of the Roundup for two medium pizzas with two toppings and one fountain drink for $16.99.

Something for everyone

Balancing out the menu are dinner-size salads, a variety of sandwiches, buffalo or barbecue wings and your choice of calzones. Clovis Pizza Junction serves Pepsi products, wine by the glass or bottle and beer on tap.
