Cavelle Kids, a children’s clothing store located on the north end of Old Town Clovis, recently closed its doors.

Owner Jessica Elrod Elrod said her daughters’ school schedules, plus the commute from her foothills residence, made it difficult to run the store.

“My oldest daughter is in kindergarten and my youngest is in preschool, and then I live up in Coarsegold so it just got too hard,” she said.

Elrod and her husband opened the shop over four years ago in Old Town. The business spent two years at its first location on Fourth Street before moving over to 625 3rd Street. Prior to opening her own business, Elrod designed women’s sportswear at Nike.

Even though the physical store is closed, business will continue online at cavellekids.com.

“I have some of the cutest little things coming online soon,” Elrod said.

In addition, Cavelle Kids clothing will be available for purchase at The Foundry Collective in Old Town’s SoFi District, as well as the upcoming Old Town Flea Market.

Opening another store, however, isn’t out of the question for Elrod and her family.

“I’m hoping, lord willing, I’ll get another storefront once things aren’t as crazy,” she added.
