Rodeo Roundup: What is your favorite part of rodeo?

The Clovis rodeo season has officially started. On March 4-6, the Clovis Rodeo Grounds welcomed trailers of livestock and junior high and high school rodeo contestants for the annual Clovis Chute-Out, hosted by CHSRA (California High School Rodeo Association) District Six, which includes young cowboys and cowgirls from Clovis and surrounding Central Valley communities. Over the weekend, contestants competed in everything from bronc riding and team roping to cutting and barrel racing. On Sunday, March 6—the only sunshine-filled day of the Chute-Out—Clovis Roundup reporter Lauren Mueller asked some of the contestants, as well as rodeo attendees, what their favorite part of the rodeo was. Most stated they loved a specific event while others spoke about their favorite aspect of the sport itself. The following are the responses received from 11 people at the Chute-Out:
