River Buddies Weekend Explorers – Bird Buddies @ San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, Inc.
Feb 24 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Join us for this Bird Buddies themed session of River Buddies Weekend Explorers!
Join us on a fun, exciting adventure! River Buddies Weekend Explorers takes your child on a journey like no other. As they adopt their new role of explorer, your child will go on a nature walk along the Hidden Homes Trail, sing fun and exciting songs, listen to a story about that day’s program theme, and participate in both a craft and hands on activity that are educational and fun! Your child will learn all about the local environment and animals that reside with us here at the River Center.
This adventure requires your child to be between the ages of 3 ½ to 6. Please note that there is a $7.00 fee per child. You can pay online when registering or in person the day of the trip by cash or check. We will be meeting at the Picnic Area at the River Center (11605 Old Friant Rd, Fresno.) The program commences at 9:00 am, so be sure to arrive in time to check in and make your payment if you have not already done so. Please be sure to dress your child in clothing suitable for a morning outside, such as long pants, closed-toe shoes, etc.  We invite you to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on site after the program is completed.

The Bird Buddies program theme includes:

  • Hidden Homes Nature Trail Hike: practice observing and identifying real birds on the pond at the center of the trail and visit larger than life bird habitats.
  • Bird Mask Craft: participants make their own bird mask to take home.
  • Bird Beak Buffet: learn about bird beak adaptations by mimicking feeding habits of different bird species.
  • Story Time: visit the ‘bird room’ in the historic 1880s Ranch House to listen to a story and interact with real bird nests.

Clovis Rotary Crab Feed @ Clovis Veterans Memorial District
Feb 24 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The annual Crab Feed is held every year in February at the Clovis Veteran’s Memorial District.

Next Crab Feed – Saturday, February 24, 2018.

This event is the sole fundraiser for our club in recent years and features all-you-can-eat fresh crab complete with salad, pasta, dessert and a hosted open bar (drinks are on us).

Many of our regular attendees come from other parts of the State.

Our Crab Feed is far more than just a wonderful dinner. It includes a very large silent auction with over 300 items and also includes a raffle and live auctions!

Our live auctions in the past included helicopter rides, getaways to foreign lands, a weekend on a private yacht, catered dinners and much, much more – all sold during a lively and entertaining auction with a professional auctioneer.

Of course the reason we hold this fundraiser is to help support the numerous projects of our club, many of which are described on the About Us page on this website. Another benefit of our Crab Feed is that it provides an opportunity for over 75 high school Interact Club members to learn the value of community service. These fine young people are your servers during dinner.

If you’d like to donate auction items, purchase advertising or simply come and enjoy the evening, use one of the links below. We looking forward to having you at this fun event!

Tickets $85 ea. until January 31st. $100 ea. on and after February 1st.
