On Saturday, Nov. 5, the Pontiacs of Central California car club held its annual Toys for Tots Car Show. The show was held in the parking lot in front of Toys ‘R’ Us, located on Shaw Avenue in Clovis. Many arrived early, picked out their parking spots and walked to Yosemite Falls Cafe for breakfast and a cup of coffee to start out the day. The Pontiac Club also provided free coffee, donuts and delicious cupcakes from the Cupcake Bakery. Within a short time, the parking lot filled as cars kept arriving. Some of the finest cars in the valley turned out for this charity event. Entry for this event was an unwrapped toy worth at least $10.
The Marine Association was on hand to welcome everyone and provide the presentation of colors while the National Anthem was played. Santa was on hand as well to share Christmas cheer with everyone. Throughout the day, many children visited with Santa to make sure he knew exactly what they wanted for Christmas.
The entrants took the greater part of the morning picking their choice for one of the 12 different class awards. It is not an easy task to pick the best among all the nice cars, trucks and motorcycles.
